The Man In The Corner
A woman dreamed of a tall man standing silently in the corner of her room. He held a machete.
In the dream, he dropped to his knees, crawled to the bed, stood, and raised the blade.
She screamed herself awake.
Her husband sat straight up.
“What happen?”
When she told him, his face drained of color.
“Lord have mercy,” he said quietly. “Mi did have di same dream.”
They never slept peacefully again.
