GRANNY AND THE MIMIC DUPPY
Share
One day, a young man was talking with his granny when she told him about a terrifying encounter she had with a mimic—and how she got rid of it.
Granny said that one night, while she was lying in bed, she heard one of her daughters calling her name. She was home alone. But she didn’t think much of it and went to sleep anyway.
The next night, she heard the same voice again. This time, she knew something was wrong. Fear crawled up her spine. She called her church sisters—strong prayer warriors—and told them what was happening. Strange things had been happening in the house, and she needed help.
That night, when the women arrived and started to pray, a deep, guttural growl rumbled through the house. It wasn’t human. It wasn’t natural. The air grew thick and heavy, and the women began praying harder. The atmosphere changed. One of the women, filled with the Spirit, stepped forward to confront whatever was lurking in the shadows.
The demon spoke—cursing, snarling, twisting its voice in ways no human could. The house became unbearably hot. The women, unfazed, began speaking in tongues, their voices rising, drowning out the evil that had taken root.
Then the woman who had stepped forward returned to the group. She started praying even louder, anointing every corner of the house with oil. She commanded any lurking spirits to leave in the name of Jesus.
The demon roared in fury. It fought back, resisting. But with every prayer, every shout of faith, it grew weaker. And weaker. Until, finally, it was cast out.
From that night on, Granny never heard the voice calling her again.
